About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs and services.

  • You will design and develop backend services using JavaScript (Node.js), with a focus on ensuring system scalability, performance, and security.
  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs (and GraphQL if applicable) that meet the needs of our users.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of development: from architecture and coding to testing, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, frontend) to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in production.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that meets industry standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional backend development experience, ideally in a startup or small team environment.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js) and experience with frameworks like Express.js, Nest.js, or similar.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript and databases (SQL and/or NoSQL – e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and security best practices.
  • Ability to take ownership, work independently, and deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
