MySQL Database Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled MySQL Database Administrator to join our team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our MySQL database, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with excellent technical skills and a passion for database administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Design and Development: Design and develop high-performance databases using MySQL RDBMS.
  • Data Management: Manage data modeling, logical and physical database design.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement robust backup and recovery models.
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance through tuning and optimization techniques.
  • High Availability: Maintain high availability of database systems through HA and DR strategies.
Requirements:
  • Expertise in MySQL RDBMS
  • Experience with XML, SQL, JavaScript
  • Strong object-oriented design and relational database design skills
  • Knowledge of operating system internals, shell scripting, monitoring, and debugging in Linux environment
  • Ability to work independently and effectively switch between different activities and teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with backups, restores, and recovery models
  • Knowledge of Performance Tuning and Optimization
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
  • MySQL DBA experience with experience of back-ups and replications
