Lead Design Engineer-Material Handling Job Summary

  • We are seeking a seasoned Lead Design Engineer to spearhead the design and development of material handling systems for steel plants and power plants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement material handling equipment, including belt conveyors, silos, hoppers, vibrating feeders, screens, dust extraction systems, trippers, belt feeders, belt weighers, magnetic separators, bucket elevators, reclaimers, stackers, barge loaders, barge unloaders, truck loading/unloading stations, crushers, pneumatic conveying systems, diverters, slide gate valves, and lifting devices (hoist and EOT cranes).
  • Prepare detailed process flow diagrams, schemes, and layouts for material handling systems.
  • Develop comprehensive profile drawings, calculations, and general arrangement drawings for belt conveying systems.
  • Compile technical specifications for material handling equipment.
  • Generate bills of quantity (BOQ) or bills of materials (BOM) for conveying systems.
  • Oversee procurement engineering activities, including datasheet review, technical specification review, technical bid analysis, offer evaluation, technical recommendation, and vendor document review.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable codes and standards (IS/CEMA/ISO etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in the material handling industry.
  • Proficiency in Auto-Cad and MS-Office.
