Job Title and Responsibilities

A general manager/assistant general manager will oversee the management of a 35-50 keys hotel/hostel, supervising various operational aspects including front office, housekeeping, human resources, food and beverage, guest experience, repairs and maintenance, security and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the hospitality industry with substantial work experience
  • Understand company vision, business expansion plans, operational standards, etc.
  • Optimize hotel operations from a strategic viewpoint
  • Manage pre-launch phase, daily operations, etc.
  • Understand diverse functions including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, engineering, etc.
  • Supervise functions and human resources (blue/white collar)
  • Ensure high service quality by managing operational quality with attention to detail on infrastructure, services, staff, operations, etc.
  • Resolve escalations and grievances efficiently
  • Strive for cost-effectiveness while maintaining high service quality
  • Motivate, mentor, and align staff members
  • Negotiate and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders such as local police, health/fire/safety departments, vendors, etc.
  • Foster collaboration among internal departments to address issues

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Hospitality degree/postgraduate or diploma in hospitality
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a hotel, hostel, guesthouse, etc.
  3. In-depth operational knowledge of hotel operations
  4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills
  5. Willingness to relocate anywhere in southern India
  6. High attention to detail
