  • We are seeking an individual with expertise in empirical research, data analysis, and publication, particularly in the field of economics or a related quantitative discipline.
About the Role

The Associate Fellow will be responsible for leading data-driven research projects, collaborating with researchers, and engaging stakeholders, including government officials and partners. This role requires excellent communication skills for crafting policy briefs and publishing high-quality research outputs.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and apply various econometric techniques, including DiD, IV, PSM, panel data models, and other causal insights.
  • Analyze large-scale datasets, including administrative, labour, GST, satellite, and survey data.
  • Translate research findings into actionable policy recommendations and clear outputs, such as reports, briefs, and op-eds.
Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you must possess:

  • A Master's or PhD in Economics, Econometrics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong training in econometrics, statistics, and programming languages like Stata, R, or Python.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in empirical research, data analysis, and publication.
Bonus Qualifications

Additionally, consideration will be given to candidates with:

  • Experience in survey design and field data collection, including ASI, LFS, ASUSE, NSS, or similar.
  • Familiarity with India's statistical system, including MoSPI, state DES, national accounts, and GVA methods.
  • Excellent communication skills for crafting policy briefs, engaging government officials, and publishing op-eds and journal papers.
