Video Editor Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Video Editor to create engaging video content for our digital platforms.

The ideal candidate should have a strong sense of storytelling and a passion for creating compelling visual content tailored for digital platforms.

This role involves editing short and long-form video content, working closely with creative teams, trimming footage segments, assembling sequences, adding transitions, music, voiceovers, effects, and graphics as needed.

Motion graphics and simple animations in Adobe After Effects or similar tools will also be created to elevate video content.

The successful candidate will maintain and manage a library of raw footage, edited versions, and project files with proper naming conventions and organization.

Staying up-to-date with video trends, platform updates, and audience preferences is crucial to keep content fresh and relevant.

Basic audio editing, color correction, and visual enhancements will be handled to deliver polished final products.

The projects must be completed within deadlines and delivered in required formats and resolutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit video content for various digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to understand content strategy.
  • Trim footage segments and assemble sequences.
  • Create motion graphics and simple animations.
  • Maintain and manage library of raw footage and project files.
  • Stay updated with video trends and platform updates.
  • Handle basic audio editing and color correction.
  • Deliver polished final products within deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Film, Media, Communication, Multimedia, or related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience in video editing, preferably for digital media or social platforms.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with creative teams.
  • A well-prepared portfolio or showreel demonstrating video editing skills and creative storytelling.
  • Basic knowledge of motion graphics, animation, and sound editing.
  • Familiarity with video formats and best practices for various social media platforms.
