The role of the Nursing Manager - Surgical Services is to oversee the day-to-day operations of all operating theatre units, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical nursing care in compliance with clinical standards, hospital protocols, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and coordinating all activities in the Operating Theatres
  • Ensuring readiness of OT for all elective and emergency surgeries
  • Monitoring infection control practices, instrument sterilization, and OT hygiene
  • Planning and ensuring adequate shift coverage, duty rosters, and leave management
  • Conducting regular performance appraisals, training, and mentorship
  • Implementing and ensuring adherence to surgical safety checklists, pre-operative and post-operative protocols
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of surgical procedures, nursing notes, and patient records
  • Ensuring compliance with NABH/JCI and other healthcare accreditation standards

The ideal candidate will have:

  • B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Nursing with valid Nursing Registration
  • ~8+ years of clinical experience in OT, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role
  • ~ Strong knowledge of surgical protocols, infection control, and nursing best practices
  • Clinical expertise in perioperative care
  • Quality and accreditation knowledge
