IP Portfolio Leader

Job Description:

As an IP Portfolio Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing a team in a dynamic environment to drive results and growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage the company's growing IP portfolio.
  • Implement efficient IP processes to ensure timely protection of intellectual property and partner interests.
  • Collaborate closely with Global IP Heads, Research and Development teams, and Portfolio teams to identify products, devise development strategies, and provide patentability guidance.
  • Prepare patents, freedom to operate reports, infringement and validity analysis, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • File and prosecute inventive solutions to build a wealth of intellectual property.
  • Monitor and evaluate scientific and patent publications.
  • Provide inputs to support legal agreements and negotiations.
  • Partner with legal and business functions to offer strategic advice and strategy in connection with M&A transactions, licensing agreements, research collaborations, litigation activities, and related issues.
  • Maintain records of inventions, know-how, trade secrets, and registered intellectual property.
  • Train management and scientists on best practices for protecting inventions and intellectual property.
  • Lead, empower, and coach a team of IP professionals.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • PhD or postgraduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Desirable: additional specialization in Intellectual Property.
  • At least 13+ years of work experience in a reputable global pharmaceutical company with team handling skills.
  • Experience in product IP clearances, patent drafting, prosecution, and ancillary areas in a pharmaceutical organization. Litigation, litigation support, and licensing experience are highly desired.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and a team-player capable of working in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
