CAD Engineer II Position

The CAD Engineer II is responsible for designing and developing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and develop UAVs, creating detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings of UAV components and systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the product development process.

  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze design concepts to optimize performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to provide technical support and resolve design-related issues during the production phase.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve the overall quality and reliability of UAV designs.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in UAV technology and CAD software to enhance design capabilities and efficiency.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior CAD engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
Requirements:
  • Pursuing or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field.
  • 5+ years of experience in CAD engineering, with a focus on drone design.
  • Candidates must have strong fundamentals in aerodynamics, aircraft structures, and composite manufacturing.
  • An abundance of patience to see a complicated project through to completion.
  • Ability to think in three-dimensional terms.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA & NX.
  • Knowledge of DFM.
  • Knowledge of Matlab/Python is preferred.
