Piping Material Design Engineer Job Description

Our organization is seeking a talented Piping Material Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our construction engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of piping projects from design to completion.

About the Role:

  • We are looking for a highly skilled professional with expertise in piping materials and a strong understanding of industrial design projects.
  • Your responsibilities will include developing piping service class indices, preparing piping specifications, and conducting technical evaluations of vendor offers.
  • You will also be involved in reviewing vendor documents and drawings, as well as providing technical support to other teams within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Piping Material Selection: Develop piping service class indices and prepare piping specifications for metallic, non-metallic, and lined piping.
  2. Technical Evaluations: Conduct thorough technical evaluations of vendor offers for all piping materials, including valves, specialties, and bulk items.
  3. Documentation Review: Review and check vendor documents and drawings for accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including interfacing, engineering, and construction groups, to ensure smooth project execution.
  5. Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve piping material-related issues that may arise during project execution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university or institute.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering consultancy firms, preferably in the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD and MS Office.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, high work ethics, and adaptability to change.
