Job Overview

The Enterprise Risk Manager plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing an effective risk management framework. This entails identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating business risks that could impact the organization's objectives and goals.

Main Responsibilities:

• To develop an integrated reporting framework with a strong focus on strategic risk and de-risking strategies.
• To prepare and submit regulatory reports at stated intervals.
• To act as secretariat to the risk management committee and manage directions provided.
• To prepare reports for the risk management committee at specified intervals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Risk Management:
  • To provide inputs for the preparation of annual risk assessment documents and quarterly risk findings covering pillar I and pillar II risks such as concentration risks, reputational risks, strategic risks, and compliance risk.
  • To compute RAROC and economic capital for various credit and treasury verticals.
  • To make periodic reports on compliance to various KRI/risk thresholds to the board of directors, risk management committee, or regulator.
  • To support the implementation of credit risk management processes in retail and institutional lending, including preparation of policies, process notes, and analysis of financial impact to the organization.
  • To address enterprise risk audit feedback appropriately and timely. To support credit risk audit and feedback wherever needed.
  • To coordinate with business, credit, compliance, and audit to identify areas for improvement in risk management frameworks (control testing).
• Customer Relationship Management:
  • To coordinate with business and credit to regularly monitor risk related to concentration, growth, and portfolio.
  • To coordinate with compliance and audit to ensure external regulations and applicable policies are reviewed and implemented effectively.
  • To coordinate with IT and operations to implement new frameworks agreed by business and credit.
  • To drive communication of all risk-related policies, guidelines, latest developments across the organization to facilitate compliance with them.
• Internal Process:
  • To submit returns to the regulator at stated intervals.
  • To regularly review the risk outlook and impact of portfolio quality and recommend risk mitigation measures, if warranted.
  • To ensure timely and accurate delivery of risk reports. To interpret the information and suggest actions for consideration by senior management.
  • To participate and contribute in scheduled meetings of the risk management committee.
  • To proactively work on monthly or quarterly regulatory reporting on risk-related aspects.
  • To review and update risk policy documents, such as the policy on ICAAP, stress testing, and disclosures, and other risk policy documents as necessary.
  • To provide inputs for collating tranche I and II points as part of risk-based supervision.
• Professional Development:
  • To conduct induction training programs on behalf of the risk and credit teams.
  • To maintain current knowledge of laws and regulations, keeping abreast with the most recent developments in regulations, notifications, and circulars and disseminate the information regarding new regulatory developments.
  • To maintain a knowledge base of strategy failures and implications, provide advice on preventive actions.
  • To ensure goal-setting, mid-year review, and annual appraisal process happens within specified timelines for self.
  • To train credit and business on specific risk management frameworks.
  • To participate in relevant business, credit, collections, and audit reviews.

Requirements:

• Educational Qualifications: MBA in Finance or Risk Management/Chartered Accountant/Company Secretary/Cost and Management Accountant.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in risk management from a nationalized bank/private sector bank/large NBFCs.
• Certifications: FRM/PRM certification will be preferred.
