Job Title: Sports Department Leader

We are seeking an experienced and visionary leader to spearhead the planning, development, and implementation of sports programs, physical education, and wellness initiatives across the institution.

About the Role:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vision, strategy, and policies for the sports department that align with institutional goals.
  • Oversee sports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum to foster a culture of excellence and inclusivity.
  • Manage sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds to ensure optimal utilization and maintenance.
  • Identify, recruit, and mentor talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels.
  • Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and faculty to promote a culture of fitness, sportsmanship, and academic excellence.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports to enhance student well-being.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of sports coaches and staff to ensure alignment with institutional objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote ethical sports practices to maintain a positive reputation.
  • Formulate and implement sports and physical education policies as per UGC/AIU norms to drive innovation and excellence.
  • Liaise with sports councils, federations, and UGC-recognized bodies for collaboration and participation.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in sports administration, coaching, or sports management.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale sports events and teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of modern training methods, sports technology, and performance analytics.
  • Record of having represented the university/college at inter-university / inter-collegiate competitions or the State and/or National championships.
  • Knowledge of UGC, AIU, and national sports policies.
