Job Overview:

The Building Information Modeler Trainee is an entry-level position that offers the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in building information modeling.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists experienced BIM modelers in the completion of daily tasks and projects
  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of construction drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software, redline markups, charts, tables, and electronic formats such as PDF and verbal instructions
  • Applies standard techniques per the firm's graphic standards and any other project-specific requirements
  • Uses information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc., in the preparation of intelligent models and construction drawings
  • Performs basic engineering calculations using accepted formulas and references
  • Contributes to and participates in evaluations and assessments to measure progress and skill growth

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • No experience required
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn new concepts quickly
  • Commitment to follow the firm's policies and safety procedures

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of design and intelligent modeling applications
  • AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Navis
