Job Title: Tendering Specialist

Description

The role of a Tendering Specialist revolves around the identification, preparation, and submission of tenders for infrastructure projects including roads, highways, bridges, and urban development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tender Identification & Evaluation
    • Monitor government and private e-procurement portals regularly to identify relevant tenders.
    • Evaluate eligibility criteria, scope of work, and risks before participating in tenders.
    • Prepare tender synopsis and present feasibility reports to management.
  • Tender Preparation & Submission
    • Coordinate with internal teams, including estimation, design, finance, and legal departments, for inputs and support.
    • Compile technical and financial bids as per client requirements.
    • Ensure timely submission of bids (online or offline) with complete documentation.
  • Cost Estimation & Pricing
    • Work closely with the estimation team to prepare competitive pricing strategies.
    • Analyze Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material, manpower, and subcontracting requirements.
    • Recommend pricing strategies based on competitor analysis.
  • Liaison & Coordination
    • Establish effective communication with government bodies, consultants, and clients to clarify any queries.
    • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client interactions to foster strong relationships.
    • Follow up on tender results and maintain relationships with authorities.
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain updated vendor registrations, certificates, and statutory compliances.
    • Ensure adherence to legal, tax, and technical documentation requirements in tenders.
    • Maintain tender Management Information System (MIS) reports, success ratios, and competitor insights.

Qualifications & Experience:

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration. A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in tendering/contracts within the infrastructure/construction sector is required. Strong knowledge of EPC, PPP, BOT tendering models is essential. Proficiency in government e-procurement portals (CPPP, IREPS, GEM, etc.) is also necessary. Excellent MS Excel, MS Project, and documentation skills are mandatory.
