Job Title: Financial Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented professional to manage our firm's financial operations in India.

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Indian tax laws, overseeing payroll management for employees, and preparing financial reports.

  • Fund Accounting:
  • Manage day-to-day fund accounting activities, including maintaining general ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely submission.
  • Oversee fund performance tracking, including cash flow management, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
  • Taxation Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with US taxation laws for venture capital funds, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Monitor and stay updated on changes in US tax regulations affecting the fund's operations and relations.
  • Payroll Management (Indian Employees):
  • Oversee the payroll processing for Indian employees, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage the calculation of salaries, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits, providing insights into the firm's financial health.
  • Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure that financial operations comply with relevant regulations, including fund reporting and tax filings for both US and Indian jurisdictions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in financial accounting, fund accounting, or a related role, with a strong understanding of Indian tax laws.
  • Experience in payroll management for Indian employees, with in-depth knowledge of Indian tax laws.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards, including IFRS and GAAP.
  • Experience with accounting software and tools, preferably QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
