Job Title: Medical Scribe Manager

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Scribe Manager to join our team. As a Medical Scribe Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing physician dictation, transcribing clinical notes into EMR/Billing systems, and preparing medical record documentation/charts for physicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transcription Services: Review physician dictation and transcribe to clinical notes in EMR/Billing systems
  2. Documentation Preparation: Prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for physician(s)
  3. Compliance: Ensure medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation
  4. Patient Information Updates: Update patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient
  5. Documentation Distribution: Prepare and send all documentation to physicians for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures
  6. Lab Results Monitoring: Monitor the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures
  7. Policies and Procedures: Comply with hospital and medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA and Joint Commission
  8. Clerical Duties: Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned
  9. Coding Services: Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures, using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes
  10. Code Accuracy: Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations
  11. Follow-up: Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear
  12. Communication: Communicate with other clinical staff regarding documentation
  13. Information Search: Search for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusual
  14. Chart Review: Receive and review patient charts and documents for accuracy
  15. Batch Review: Reviews the previous day's batch of patient notes for evaluation and coding
  16. Code Management: Ensure that all codes are current and active
