Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Scribe Manager to join our team. As a Medical Scribe Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing physician dictation, transcribing clinical notes into EMR/Billing systems, and preparing medical record documentation/charts for physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcription Services: Review physician dictation and transcribe to clinical notes in EMR/Billing systems
- Documentation Preparation: Prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for physician(s)
- Compliance: Ensure medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation
- Patient Information Updates: Update patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient
- Documentation Distribution: Prepare and send all documentation to physicians for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures
- Lab Results Monitoring: Monitor the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures
- Policies and Procedures: Comply with hospital and medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA and Joint Commission
- Clerical Duties: Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned
- Coding Services: Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures, using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes
- Code Accuracy: Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations
- Follow-up: Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear
- Communication: Communicate with other clinical staff regarding documentation
- Information Search: Search for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusual
- Chart Review: Receive and review patient charts and documents for accuracy
- Batch Review: Reviews the previous day's batch of patient notes for evaluation and coding
- Code Management: Ensure that all codes are current and active
