Key to this role is leading the merchandising of a B2B team. In this position, you will be responsible for optimizing the buying cycle and ensuring timely production.

Optimizing current processes or setting up new ones is crucial in ensuring procurement strategy effectiveness. This involves capacity planning and production planning with operations manager, suppliers, along with ensuring all levers for timely inspection are in place.

You will work closely with vendors for development sampling and initial costs, monitor supplier performance, conduct regular audits, and address any issues or non-compliance.

Ensuring design packages are complete and accurate is essential. You will prepare and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and sourcing metrics, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

Training and mentoring team members is vital for fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-level performance. Evaluating and analyzing new tools and technologies to automate processes & reporting is also necessary.

A strategic thinker who can collaborate with cross-functional teams, including materials, warehousing, and logistics, is ideal for this role. Key qualifications include past experience in managing production or sourcing, a bachelor's diploma / degree in fashion technology or engineering in textile technology, and exceptional understanding of garment manufacturing operations & processes.

  • Exceptional understanding of garment manufacturing operations & processes
  • Technical understanding of pattern and fit development of garments—knowledge of AUTO CAD would be preferred
  • Merchandise Sourcing Knowledge - Experience in sample development and with offshore production exposure; in large-sized buying offices or Export House
