Transmission Line Engineer Role

The Transmission Line Engineer provides technical leadership and delivery capability across transmission line projects. The role involves planning, scheduling, and execution of HV transmission line projects including cost estimates and resource allocation plans.

  • Collaboration with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Delivering HV transmission line engineering and design projects packages.

Key responsibilities include:

Civil and Structural Focus:
  • Tower or pole modeling using PLS-TOWER or PLS-POLE, including strength and stability checks.
  • Supporting foundation assessments and designs in collaboration with geotechnical engineers.
  • Preparing general arrangement drawings, connection details, and fabrication drawings.
Electrical Focus:
  • Selecting conductor types, earthwires, and OPGW based on system requirements.
  • Performing insulation coordination studies and strike arcing distance assessments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 8-13 years of relevant experience in HV transmission design and delivery.
  • Chartered or Professional Engineer status is preferred.
