About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team of special educators.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults with special needs.

  • Assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities using standardised tests and informal evaluations.
  • Develop and implement Individualised Therapy Plans (ITPs) tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
  • Provide one-on-one and group speech therapy sessions to improve articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and expressive communication.
  • Work closely with special education teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists and parents to support integrated student development.
  • Monitor and document students' progress and adapt ITPs as needed.
  • Assist in the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tools when appropriate.
  • Educate and train staff and caregivers on communication strategies and support techniques.
  • Participate in meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain detailed records and comply with all school policies and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Valid certification or license to practice as a Speech Therapist (as per local/state regulations).
  • Minimum 3 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities
  • Experience working with children with special needs preferred.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and specialised instructional strategies.
  • Patience, empathy and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive aids, and devices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Good organisational and documentation skills
