Senior Data Engineer Role

The ideal candidate will have strong SQL development skills, data quality management experience, and the ability to work with global clinical trial systems in a collaborative environment.

This role requires a Senior Data Engineer / Data Remediation Specialist to analyze, debug, and resolve data quality issues across multiple related tables.

The successful candidate will also have experience with schema migrations, rollback strategies, and the ability to write complex SQL queries using joins, CTEs, window functions, temp tables, and nested queries.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, debug, and resolve data quality issues across multiple related tables.
  • Write complex SQL queries using joins, CTEs, window functions, temp tables, and nested queries.
  • Perform schema-level fixes and implement rollback logic using tools like Phinx, Flyway, or Liquibase.
  • Collaborate with product and QA teams to validate fixes, create data validation test cases, and ensure reproducibility.
  • Document root cause analysis (RCA) clearly and communicate solutions with stakeholders.
  • Work with Jira for ticket management, tagging, and maintaining proper workflow.
Must-Have Skills:
  • Advanced SQL Development – hands-on experience with complex joins, aggregations, and performance optimization.
  • Data Remediation Expertise – ability to debug and fix production data issues.
  • Database Migration & Rollback Experience – familiarity with schema migrations and rollback tools (Phinx, Flyway, Liquibase).
  • Data Validation & QA – ability to design and execute validation steps to ensure accuracy.
  • Experience with clinical trial systems, CTMS, EDC, or multi-tenant platforms.
  • Excellent communication and root cause documentation skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience in ETL processes, data pipelines, or big data technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP BigQuery).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
