Key Responsibilities:

As a Release Manager and DevOps Specialist, your key responsibilities will include planning, scheduling, and managing software releases across multiple environments. You will ensure timely and quality delivery of releases with minimal disruption. You will also maintain release calendars and coordinate with stakeholders for alignment.

Change Request (CR) Management:

Another critical aspect of this role is Change Request (CR) management. You will create, track, and manage CRs through their lifecycle. This includes ensuring compliance with internal governance and external audit requirements. You will collaborate with business and technical teams to assess impact and risk.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

You will act as a liaison between development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams. This involves facilitating release readiness meetings and post-release reviews. You will also resolve conflicts and dependencies across teams to ensure smooth delivery.

DevOps & Automation:

In this role, you will implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc. You will monitor and optimize deployment processes for scalability and reliability. Additionally, you will drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Communication & Collaboration:

A strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, you will effectively convey technical and non-technical information to stakeholders at all levels. You will foster a collaborative environment across geographically distributed teams.

Documentation & Reporting:

Finally, you will maintain detailed release notes, CR logs, and deployment documentation. You will provide regular status updates and metrics to leadership.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you should have 7+ years of experience in Release Management and DevOps. You should have a strong understanding of SDLC and Agile processes. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and cloud platforms is essential. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, Groovy is also required. Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications in DevOps & Agile methodologies are a plus. Experience in regulated industries is also beneficial. Familiarity with security and compliance standards in release processes is an added advantage.
