Job Opportunity: Corporate Lawyer

The role of the corporate lawyer is to provide legal services and advice to clients. This includes reviewing and drafting agreements, providing guidance on compliance with laws and regulations, and managing client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Legal Documents: The lawyer will prepare and review various legal documents including corporate documents such as directors and members' resolutions, powers of attorney, and service agreements.
  • Incorporate and Terminate Companies: The lawyer will be responsible for incorporating and terminating companies in accordance with the Prospect and Termination Work Flow.
  • Provide Fee Quotations: The lawyer will provide fee quotations for services to be provided to clients and charge the said fees in Maconomy accordingly.
  • Monitor Productivity: The lawyer will monitor productivity and chargeability on a weekly basis and review productivity and performance against targets to ensure that individual financial and client targets are met.
  • Manage Client Relationships: The lawyer will manage client relationships and ensure that all information in the client files is correct and up-to-date.
  • Assure Company Capitalization: The lawyer will assure that companies are capitalized and that the management agreements are available in the clients' files (if applicable).
  • Work with Managers: The lawyer will work closely with managers for maintenance of the client database and ensure it is updated and accurate at all times. They will also advise managers on complex requests.
  • Develop Legal Manuals: The lawyer will develop and update the legal manuals and procedures and contribute to the development and maintenance of the systems.
  • Prepare Monthly Reports: The lawyer will prepare monthly reports for the Management Team; Work in specific projects to be assigned by the Manager; Offers advice, knowledge and experience to colleagues (if applicable).
  • Other Tasks: The lawyer will perform all other tasks related to the position.

Requirements

  • Education: Relevant Bachelor's Degree (Law / Economics) / Qualified Company Secretary
  • Experience: Minimum 8+ years of experience in legal and corporate/ company management services in a law firm, trust or company management firm.
  • Skills: Strong commercial mindset, takes initiative, positive and proactive, dedicated, focused and revenue and target driven.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Client Facing Skills: Excellent client facing skills. Well-developed spoken and written communication skills and the ability to tailor style to relevant audiences and successfully liaise with people at different levels.
  • Language Skills: Excellent English language fluency, additional languages preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, solution driven, highly organized and detail-orientated with good decision making and time management skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Independent, hands-on and takes accountability to deliver solutions and results.
  • Team Player: Ability to adapt and work in a smaller, dynamic local team environment; along with being part of a bigger matrix organization.
