Direct Tax Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Direct Tax Specialist to join our organization. As a key member of our tax advisory team, you will provide expert guidance on direct taxation matters, helping clients navigate the complexities of Indian tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting submissions for faceless assessment and appeal proceedings, penalty submissions, and other related tasks.
  • Representing clients before assessing officers and various authorities in assessment and appeal proceedings.
  • Preparing, vetting, and filing returns of income and TDS returns for individuals, partnership firms, HUF, companies, and other entities.
  • Responding to department queries and making necessary compliances.

Litigation and Representation:

  • Briefing managers, partners, and counsel for CIT (appeals), tribunal, and high court matters.
  • Drafting and preparing submissions and paper books for appellate authorities.
  • Conducting thorough research on technical and legal issues in appeal matters.

Tax Advisory, Structuring, and Planning:

  • Providing advisory services on domestic and international taxation.
  • Preparing Form 15CA/ CB for clients.
  • Offering advisory and planning services on tax structures and evaluating taxability.

Other Areas:

  • Supporting partners and managers in day-to-day assignments.
  • Assisting in business development.
  • Solving client queries.
  • Reviewing tax audit reports.
  • Staying updated on tax developments through workshops, publications, and professional networks.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in direct tax.
  • Excellent knowledge of Indian direct tax laws and government departments.
  • Ability to handle complex tax assessments and litigations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
