We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with expertise in DATEV, the leading German accounting software. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of German accounting principles and experience supporting tax office closings, including preparing and submitting financial data in compliance with local tax regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting tasks using DATEV software to ensure accurate and timely completion.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial records and reports in accordance with German accounting standards to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring timely submission to the German Tax Office to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, tax consultants) to guarantee adherence to statutory requirements.
  • Reconcile accounts, manage ledgers, and verify data integrity to prevent errors and inaccuracies.
  • Maintain precise documentation and assist in audit preparation to demonstrate accountability and transparency.
  • Stay updated with relevant changes in German tax laws and accounting regulations to ensure ongoing knowledge and expertise.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience using DATEV accounting software to possess technical proficiency.
  • Solid knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and tax filing processes to ensure familiarity with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in preparing documentation for tax office closings to demonstrate practical application.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to analyze complex financial data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools to efficiently manage financial tasks.
  • English proficiency required to communicate effectively with international stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field to provide foundational knowledge.
  • Prior experience working in a German accounting environment or with German clients to offer cultural insight.
  • Familiarity with digital tax filing and audit processes in Germany to enhance technical expertise.
