Data Governance Expert

This role plays a crucial part in our data team, supporting data governance efforts and enhancing our data architecture.
Data Governance RoleThe ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in data quality practices and data management principles, enabling them to establish trusted data foundations that drive business intelligence, analytics, and operational reporting.
- Serve as a technical steward for assigned data domains.
- Create & Maintain metadata, business glossary, and data catalog entries using tools like Collibra, Altion, Informatica or similar.
- Collaborate with data owners to enforce data definitions, classifications, and data quality rules.
- Perform data profiling, identify issues, and coordinate remediation.
- Support the onboarding of new data assets, including cataloging, lineage, and stewardship assignments.
- Assist in configuring governance tools, workflow management, and integration automation.
- Work with engineering teams to support PII tagging, data masking, and access governance.
- Provide training and support to business users in using governance tools effectively.
- Develop and deploy a master data governance framework and utilize supporting data management tools.
- Establish and monitor data quality metrics against established targets.
- Conduct regular data governance reviews and provide recommendations for process improvements.
