Network Security Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Network Security Specialist with L1 and L2 level expertise to join our IT infrastructure team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and foundational knowledge of network security operations. This role focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network security infrastructure, ensuring availability and performance across environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain Palo Alto Firewalls (physical and virtual appliances).
  • Perform L2-level troubleshooting of network security incidents.
  • Analyze and resolve firewall-related issues including traffic flow, policy violations, and NAT.
  • Configure and update firewall rules, security policies, objects, NAT rules, and address groups.
  • Set up and manage IPsec and SSL VPNs on Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Monitor and analyze logs (Traffic, Threat, URL Filtering, System) using Palo Alto tools and Panorama.
  • Support change requests, configuration changes, and policy optimizations.
  • Coordinate with L1 and L3 teams to ensure timely incident resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Work with compliance and security teams for audits, rule reviews, and access control policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, change records, and SOPs.
  • Participate in planned maintenance windows, patching, and upgrade activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2–4 years of experience in network security operations with L2-level support responsibilities.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls and Panorama.
  • Solid understanding of network concepts: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, NAT, and VPNs.
  • Ability to analyze firewall logs and identify threats, misconfigurations, or unusual behavior.
  • Experience with enterprise firewall change management processes.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (ISO, NIST, PCI-DSS, etc.).
  • Exposure to tools like Wireshark, Splunk, or SIEM platforms.
  • Certifications (Preferred): PCNSA, PCNSE, or relevant security/networking certifications (e.g., CCNA Security, Fortinet NSE).
