Revenue Recognition Lead

We are seeking a seasoned Revenue Recognition professional to join our finance team. This individual will be responsible for leading the revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP (ASC 606), and driving accuracy and timeliness in revenue recognition.

  • Lead the end-to-end revenue recognition process, guaranteeing alignment with US GAAP standards.
  • Analyze customer contracts to determine proper revenue recognition treatment, ensuring data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data flow and contract interpretations, fostering seamless communication.
  • Develop and execute revenue-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes, maintaining financial precision.
  • Ensure timely follow-up for prompt collections from customers, optimizing cash flow.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls over revenue recognition processes, upholding accountability.
  • Support external and internal audits, providing necessary documentation and analysis, promoting transparency.
  • Cultivate process improvement initiatives and automation of revenue reporting and reconciliation, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Provide support to other areas of Finance as needed, demonstrating flexibility.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in revenue recognition or technical accounting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in US GAAP, particularly ASC 606.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, ZOHO Books, XERO, or similar accounting software is an asset.
  • Advanced Excel skills and a strong analytical mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
