Market Risk Specialist

This is an onsite opportunity for the qualified candidate to be deputed at banks in the GCC region to manage specialized risk management functions within the enterprise risk management practice.

Key Functional Expectations:
  • Establishment of Policies and Guidelines
    • Responsible for creating and implementing policies/guidelines on the enhanced monitoring of treasury/investment/ALM/liquidity risk.
  • Valuation of Treasury Portfolios
    • Responsible for the valuation of treasury portfolios – forex, fixed income, derivatives, equity, and others.
  • Independent Mid-Office Monitoring Support
    • Shall provide independent mid-office monitoring support on net operating profit (NOP), fixed income, financial institutions group (FIG), derivatives, limit monitoring, etc.
  • Monitoring Hedge Effectiveness
    • Shall be responsible for monitoring hedge effectiveness on a periodic basis.
  • Implementation of Capital Charge and Counterparty Risk Charge
    • Implementation and calculation of capital charge and counterparty risk charge.
  • Technical Analysis of Equities, Bonds, and Money Market Funds
    • Technical analysis of equities, bonds, and money market funds.
  • All Types of Limit Monitoring
    • All types of limit monitoring with respect to treasury activities as prescribed in internal and regulatory policies.
  • MTM Reconciliation with Counterparty Banks
    • MTM reconciliation with counterparty banks for derivatives deals undertaken and making/responding margin calls in terms of CSA arrangement with them.
  • Preparation of Regulatory and Internal Reports
    • Responsible for the preparation of regulatory and internal daily and periodical reports and board notes on accurate and timely submission.
  • Enhancement of Methodologies for Counterpart Credit Risk Measures
    • Enhancing methodologies for counterpart credit risk measures like potential future exposure (PFE), credit value adjustment (CVA), etc.
  • Periodic Review of Banks' New Products
    • Periodic review of banks' new products related to market risk and providing risk mitigation controls.
    Required Skills and Qualifications:
    • 6-8 years of relevant work experience for Middle East banks.
