Job Description:

The Anchor role is a key position that requires exceptional hosting, presenting, and facilitating skills. As the official host for university events, conferences, workshops, seminars, cultural functions, sports events, and other programs, you will lead the flow of events with enthusiasm and maintain audience engagement.

You will deliver live commentary, engage with the audience to create a lively atmosphere, introduce speakers, dignitaries, and guests, ensuring a smooth transition between different segments of the event. Conducting interviews, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions when required will also be part of your responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Educational Qualification:
    • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an anchor, host, or presenter in a professional setting, such as television, radio, live events, or media.
    • Prior experience in hosting educational or corporate events is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (knowledge of Hindi/Punjabi is a plus).
    • Excellent public speaking, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
    • Confident, dynamic, and energetic personality.
    • Ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected situations during live events.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with media production and event management tools is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Hosting and Presenting:
    • Serve as the official host for university events.
    • Deliver live commentary and engage with the audience.
    • Introduce speakers, dignitaries, and guests.
    • Conduct interviews, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions.
  • Audience Engagement:
    • Engage with the audience through interactive elements.
    • Maintain an energetic, friendly, and professional demeanor.
    • Ensure all event timings are adhered to.
  • Content Preparation:
    • Work closely with the event team to understand the theme and objectives.
    • Prepare scripts, speeches, and presentations.
    • Research relevant topics and information.
  • Coordination with Organizers and Teams:
    • Collaborate with event coordinators and technical teams.
    • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the event.
  • Brand Representation:
    • Represent the university in a positive, professional, and articulate manner.
    • Ensure consistent communication of the university's vision and messages.
  • Social Media and Digital Engagement:
    • Assist in promoting events through social media platforms.
    • Record short video snippets for promotional use.
