Job Title: Event Manager

 

Overview:

As an Event Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional experiences for our clients. This position is ideal for individuals who are highly organized, communicative, and have a passion for creating memorable events.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan sales calls into defined objectives and maintain a detailed knowledge of hotel facilities, features, and services.
  2. Conduct routine telemarketing activities to identify new business opportunities, meet and greet VIP guests upon arrival/departure, and conduct regular market surveys and competitor researches.
  3. Plan and make sales trips to explore new events business opportunities, entertain and conduct site inspections with relevant company representatives/government officials/delegates, and implement events action plans as outlined in the marketing plan.
  4. Assist the events buddy with follow-up matters in their absence and review productivity level improvements through process streamlining.

 

Requirements:

  • Maintain an efficient and accurate filing system, both manual and electronic, and complete supported records of all events agreements, contracts, and quotations for the hotel.
  • Establish an efficient trace file to track all business booked properly, submit sales reports to the associate director of events in a timely manner, and provide accurate reporting of business booked to the sales coordinator for monthly consolidation.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Assist in maintaining employee awareness of product knowledge, current promotions, policy changes, and internal communication.
  • Recruit and select sales employees if required, adhere to guidelines when recruiting, and use a competency-based approach to selecting employees.
  • Maximize employee effectiveness by developing skills and abilities through training, coaching, and/or mentoring, and assist in conducting annual performance development discussions and supporting professional development goals.
  • Encourage creativity and innovation among employees, recognizing their contributions to the operation's success.
