Direct Tax Advisory Consultant

Practice Area: Direct Tax

Qualification: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)

PQE : 3-5 years of professional experience in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Direct Tax Advisory is required.

  • Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and Direct Tax Advisory on Complex Issues
  • Preparation and Review of Transaction Documentation
  • Conducting Direct Tax Due Diligence
  • International Tax Advisory, Focusing on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent BEPS (MLI), General Anti-Avoidance Rule (GAAR), Double Taxation Avoidance Agreements (DTAA), and Domestic Tax Laws and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA)/Regulatory Issues
  • Inbound and Outbound Structuring
  • Treaty Interpretations
  • Research on Varied Income-Tax Issues, Including Preparation of Case for Opinions for Briefing Senior Counsels on Complex Direct Tax Issues
  • Preparing Deliverables in the Form of Slide Deck, Opinion, Note, and Memo
  • Direct Tax Litigation Assistance, Including Drafting Submissions and Briefing Senior Counsels

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. They will be responsible for preparing and reviewing transaction documentation, conducting direct tax due diligence, and providing international tax advisory services. The candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
