GIS Development Position

The Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled GIS developer to join our team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain GIS applications using various programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or .NET.

The ideal candidate will have experience with spatial databases like PostGIS, SQL Server, and Oracle Spatial, as well as knowledge of web development frameworks and APIs (REST/SOAP). They will also be able to integrate GIS with other enterprise systems (ERP, CRM) and work with cloud GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS/Azure).

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing custom geospatial solutions that meet the needs of our clients. This includes analyzing user requirements, performing spatial data modeling, geoprocessing, and complex spatial analysis, as well as creating interactive maps, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as ArcGIS Online, QGIS, or Mapbox.

You will also be expected to maintain and optimize spatial databases, conduct performance tuning, testing, and documentation of GIS solutions, and provide support and troubleshooting for GIS-related issues and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, Develop, and Maintain GIS Applications
  • Analyze user requirements to develop and optimize geospatial workflows and tools.
  • Integrate GIS applications with various enterprise systems and APIs.
  • Develop Scripts and Tools for Data Automation
  • Perform spatial data modeling, geoprocessing, and complex spatial analysis.
  • Maintain and optimize spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, SQL Server with spatial extensions).
  • Create interactive maps, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as ArcGIS Online, QGIS, or Mapbox.
  • Conduct performance tuning, testing, and documentation of GIS solutions.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for GIS-related issues and enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in GIS development.
  • Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online).
  • Experience with Geocortex Essentials and Custom Web Applications
  • Experience Working with VertiGIS Studio and ESRI Experience Builder
    • Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript (Leaflet/ArcGIS API for JS), or .NET for GIS applications.
    • Experience with spatial databases: PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle Spatial.
    • Hands-on experience with FME, GDAL, or other ETL/data transformation tools.
    • Knowledge of web development frameworks and APIs (REST/SOAP).
    • Experience integrating GIS with other enterprise systems (ERP, CRM).
    • Familiarity with open-source GIS platforms (QGIS, GeoServer, MapServer) is a plus.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in GIS (e.g., Esri Technical Certification).
  • Experience working with cloud GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS/Azure).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
