The Role

As a senior WordPress developer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Building and maintaining advanced Gutenberg blocks leveraging hooks, APIs, and custom theme logic.
  • Optimizing database queries and code execution to ensure seamless user experiences.
  • Integrating with REST APIs and supporting complex integrations/microservices.
  • Collaborating with front-end integrators to connect blocks/themes while owning the backend architecture.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you'll need to master the following skills:

  • Deep expertise in PHP and the WordPress ecosystem (hooks, APIs, plugins, themes, Gutenberg).
  • Strong SQL skills and proven experience optimizing queries for performance.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and microservice integration patterns.
  • React experience, especially for Gutenberg block development.
  • Comfortable with Docker/Podman workflows and Linux environments (WP-CLI, file manipulation, container ops).
  • A performance-minded developer: profiling, measuring, and optimizing code execution.
  • Good command of HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6).
  • Experience working closely with designers and front-end integrators.
