Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to manage audit and review engagements, prepare tax returns, and issue financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Audit Engagements: Plan and execute audits, perform testing or analytical procedures, and lead engagements from start to completion.
  • Preparation of Tax Returns: Input tax returns for clients in tax software.
  • Issue Draft Financial Statements and Tax Returns: Take full responsibility for preparation of deliverables to the client, including financial statements and tax returns.
  • Client Liaison: Communicate with clients to obtain required financial/tax documents to ensure engagement deliverables are complete and accurate.

Requirements:

  • 5-7+ years of experience working for an accounting firm.
  • 3+ years of experience in a senior or supervisor role at an accounting firm.
  • 5+ years of audit experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant License.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to pivot when necessary to meet client deadlines in a timely manner.

Software Skills:

  • Familiarity and experience with CCH ProSystem Fx Engagement software for audit/review engagements and CCH ProSystem Fx Tax software for tax return preparation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
