Senior IT Operations Manager – Pharma

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all IT operations at a manufacturing plant, ensuring alignment with corporate IT standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide GxP-compliant support for manufacturing systems (MES, LIMS, SCADA, etc.) and ensure proper documentation and validation protocols are followed.
  • Act as the primary IT contact for plant and quality assurance teams, providing expert technical guidance and support.
  • Support audits and inspections by regulatory bodies (FDA, EMA, etc.) by providing required documentation and demonstrating compliance.
  • Manage local infrastructure (servers, networks, desktops, printers) and coordinate with central IT teams for enterprise-level support, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols in the plant environment, protecting sensitive data and preventing security breaches.
  • Coordinate the rollout of new IT systems and upgrades, conducting thorough impact assessments and developing comprehensive implementation plans to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Maintain and update IT SOPs in compliance with GxP standards, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers for support and maintenance of plant systems, negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships to achieve optimal results.
  • Train and support end-users on relevant IT systems and best practices, promoting user adoption and improving overall system efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, with a strong foundation in software development, networking, and database management.
  • Minimum 3 years of IT experience, with at least 2 years in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, demonstrating expertise in IT operations, system administration, and technical leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and other applicable regulatory requirements, with experience in developing and implementing compliant solutions.
  • Experience supporting or managing systems such as MES, LIMS, SCADA, or ERP in a GMP environment, with a proven track record of success in similar roles.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and system validation life cycle (SDLC), with a strong understanding of industry best practices and methodologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate multiple tasks and priorities, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and business outcomes.
