Unix Support Engineer Position

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill a critical role in our banking environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in Unix, AIX, and Power Systems.

About the Job:

  • Provide level 2 and level 3 support for Unix systems in a mission-critical banking environment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, including PCI DSS, SWIFT, and local regulations.
  • Work within established ITIL processes to ensure efficient incident management, change control, and problem resolution.
  • Maintain high availability, performance, and security of our systems; participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning exercises.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents, manage approved platform changes, and conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues.
  • Optimize system configurations and schedule jobs to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues and validate post-change system health.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and clear communication channels with stakeholders.
  • Show ownership and readiness for 24/7 support and on-call rotations.
