Emerging Business Opportunities Job Overview

This role focuses on identifying and analyzing emerging technologies, business models, and innovations within the IoT ecosystem.

We are seeking a professional with expertise in strategy development, market analysis, and new venture management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving innovation and growth through strategic partnerships and investments.

Responsibilities:
  • Emerging Technology Analysis
    • Conduct continuous scanning of the IoT landscape to identify emerging trends, new business models, competitor moves, and untapped market opportunities.
    • Develop insightful research reports on long-term industry trends, disruptions, and potential threats to current business operations.
  • Market Validation & Feasibility Assessment
    • Design and execute validation processes for new opportunity hypotheses using primary customer research, expert interviews, competitive analysis, and prototype testing.
    • Develop robust financial models and business cases to assess market size, potential ROI, and strategic value of new opportunities.
  • Strategic Incubation & Business Development
    • Lead initial incubation phase for validated opportunities, including defining product-market fit, building MVPs or prototypes, and running pilot programs with early customers.
    • Coordinate cross-functional resources to accelerate incubation process.
  • Ecosystem Engagement
    • Build a network of external contacts (startups, academics, industry experts, venture capitalists) to serve as a radar for emerging innovation and potential partnership opportunities.
  • Strategic Communication
    • Communicate findings, recommendations, and progress to senior leadership to inform strategic investment decisions.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
    • 5+ years of experience in strategy role such as corporate strategy, venture capital, management consulting, product management, or business development within technology context.
    • Proven experience in market analysis, new venture development, or managing early-stage innovation projects.
    • Deep understanding of IoT technology stack, competitive landscape, and key market drivers.
    • Superior analytical and financial modeling skills, with experience building business cases from scratch.
    • Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to thrive in ambiguity, developing structure around poorly defined problems.
    • Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
