Controller & Financial Reporting Specialist

About the Position
We are seeking a seasoned financial services delivery lead to oversee the delivery of high-quality financial reports. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for leading and managing multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approval of manual journal entries to maintain accuracy in financial records.
- Supervise generation and distribution of journal entries across entities and regions to ensure consistency in financial reporting.
- Regularly review and approve financial reconciliations to ensure accounts align across entities, providing transparency in financial operations.
- Investigate and resolve out-of-balance situations for proper reconciliation and reporting, upholding the highest standards of financial integrity.
- Monitor and review open items, assessing risks and coordinating with internal departments to ensure prompt resolution.
- Ensure timely clearing of open items to maintain accurate financial records and avoid potential financial discrepancies.
- Conduct periodic reviews of trial balances at company code level for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that financial information is reliable.
- Address discrepancies and ensure proper documentation to provide clarity in financial reporting.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes for general ledger, fixed assets, and intercompany activities, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Resolve issues related to close process by coordinating with internal departments, ensuring that financial reporting meets the highest standards.
- Accountable for high-quality statutory accounting and reporting for all legal entities, upholding the integrity of financial information.
- Support implementation of new accounting pronouncements as required, staying updated on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation in financial reporting.
- Prior experience in statutory financial statement preparation and local indirect/direct tax knowledge is highly desirable.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within finance operations, leveraging expertise to optimize financial performance.
- Lead initiatives focused on digital transformation and automation, driving innovation in financial services delivery.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to drive innovation in financial reporting, contributing to the development of cutting-edge financial solutions.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure financial goals are met, maintaining a high level of financial acumen.
- Oversee preparation and review of financial packs, including balance sheet commentaries, ensuring that financial information is presented in a clear and concise manner.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, maintaining a strong focus on financial governance.
- Partner with corporate stakeholders, including CAO, Director of Global Accounting, and Director of Corporate Consolidations, to drive strategic financial initiatives.
- Communicate and collaborate with regional finance counterparts to share best practices and promote global financial excellence.
