Internal Audit Lead Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of an annual internal audit plan. This plan will focus on identifying risks across various operations, including steel manufacturing, mining, power generation, and infrastructure.

• Lead audits in key areas such as Finance, Operations, Sales, Procurement, Logistics, Projects, Human Resources, Safety, Occupational Health, and Information Technology (SAP/ERP).
• Evaluate controls in high-risk sectors, including blast furnace, SMS, coke oven, rolling mills, utilities, Raw Materials, Consumables, Finished Goods inventories, and logistics.
• Conduct techno-commercial reviews of major projects, contracts, and capital expenditures.
• Support forensic audits and fraud investigations, ensuring timely corrective actions.

Risk Management Strategy

The Internal Audit Lead will be responsible for establishing and strengthening Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) aligned with COSO/ISO frameworks.

• Identify strategic, operational, financial, compliance, safety, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks across the business value chain.
• Maintain a comprehensive risk register and conduct periodic risk assessments.
• Develop mitigation plans in collaboration with business leaders and track implementation progress.
• Integrate risk management into business decision-making and project evaluations.

Compliance and Governance

The Internal Audit Lead will ensure compliance with statutory requirements, regulatory bodies, and global best practices.

• Monitor SOX/ICFR controls and IFC implementation across processes.
• Promote ethical culture, whistleblower mechanisms, and anti-fraud frameworks.
• Support management in sustainability, safety, and ESG-related risk reviews.

Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

The Internal Audit Lead will lead a multidisciplinary team of auditors, risk specialists, and forensic experts.

• Engage with stakeholders, senior leadership, and regulators as required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
• Bolster digital capabilities in internal audit, including analytics, AI, continuous auditing, and RPA.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess relevant certifications, such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or CISA.

• 15-20 years of experience, with at least 10 years in lead roles in Internal Audit & Risk Management.
• Strong exposure to steel, manufacturing, mining, or large-scale industrial projects.
• Hands-on experience in ERM frameworks, SOX/ICFR compliance, and SAP/ERP audits.
• Proven track record of handling board-level reporting, governance, and cross-border audits.
