Job Title: Assistant Technical Superintendent

This is a key on-site position for Chennai, where you will operate under the supervision of the Technical Fleet Manager. You are accountable to the Technical Fleet Manager and/or allocated Technical personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor technical and operational performance of assigned vessels.
  • Be conversant with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and actively participate in its implementation.
  • Follow up on shipboard quality assurance system requirements as directed by the Manager - Technical and Marine.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 4 years of experience in the marine industry, preferably in a technical capacity.
  • Familiarity with maritime regulations, technical ship operations, and purchasing processes.
  • Working knowledge of planned maintenance systems (PMS), certification standards, and marine repair cycles.

Education requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or equivalent. The ideal candidate should have good command of the English language and knowledge about purchasing and budget control.

Key Performance Indicators:
  • Contribute to the development and revision of technical procedures and manuals.
  • Support collection and analysis of maintenance data and downtime reports.
  • Assist in follow-up of insurance and claim-related matters in coordination with the relevant Technical Superintendent.
