Electrical Commodity Procurement Specialist

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commodity Procurement Specialist to manage procurement of automotive electrical & electronic commodities. This involves strategic sourcing, vendor development, localisation, and cost optimisation of electrical & electronic parts used in vehicles.

The ideal candidate will work closely with suppliers, engineering, and quality teams to ensure reliable sourcing at competitive costs.

Responsibilities:
  • Procure Automotive Electrical Commodity Parts: Manage procurement of wiring harnesses, sensors & switches, relays, fuses, connectors, control units/ECUs, lighting systems, and instrument clusters & other electronic sub-systems.
  • Lead Strategic Sourcing Initiatives: Drive initiatives to achieve best cost, quality, and delivery for electrical commodity parts.
  • Drive Localisation Projects: Reduce dependency on imports and improve supply chain resilience by driving localisation projects.
  • Conduct Vendor Evaluation and Development: Identify, evaluate, and develop new and existing suppliers for electrical commodity parts.
  • Cost Analysis and Negotiation: Conduct cost analysis, negotiate with suppliers, and benchmark to achieve cost reduction targets.
  • Collaborate with R&D Teams: Align supplier capabilities with technical requirements in collaboration with R&D, design, and quality teams.
  • Monitor Supplier Performance: Track QCD parameters and initiate improvements with suppliers.
  • Trend Monitoring: Monitor market trends, raw material cost fluctuations, and new technologies in automotive electronics.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with IATF/ISO standards, OEM requirements, and ethical sourcing guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Strategic Sourcing Expertise: Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, vendor development, localisation, and cost management.
  • Negotiation and Cost Analysis Skills: Strong negotiation, cost analysis, and supplier management skills.
  • APQP and Supplier Quality Processes: Exposure to APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality processes in the automotive industry.
  • ERP Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, and proficiency in MS Office.
