Investment Counsellor Role Overview

The Investment Counsellor is a key professional responsible for providing personalized investment and financial planning services to clients. This role involves assessing clients' financial needs, developing tailored investment strategies, and delivering expert advice to help them achieve their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Consultation and Relationship Management: Conduct comprehensive consultations with clients to understand their financial objectives, risk tolerance, and investment preferences. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact for investment-related inquiries and advice.
  • Investment Strategy Development: Create customized investment strategies and asset allocation plans based on clients' objectives, risk profiles, and financial situations. Utilize financial modelling and forecasting tools to analyse investment opportunities and recommend appropriate investment products.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee clients' investment portfolios, including monitoring performance, rebalancing, and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all investment recommendations and transactions comply with regulatory requirements and firm policies. Prepare and present regular performance reports and updates to clients, including performance metrics, market insights, and portfolio changes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CFP) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in investment management, financial planning, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of financial markets and investment products.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Proficiency in financial software, portfolio management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
