Job Title:

Experienced Software Engineer for Cloud-Native Solutions

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled software engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and delivering cloud-native solutions using Scala and Akka.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop cloud-native solutions using Scala and Akka, including Akka Streams.
  • Drive event-driven architectures and implement robust, scalable solutions aligned with our business transformation.
  • Lead test-driven development within an agile, collaborative team setting.
  • Use GRPC, Protocol Buffers, Docker containers, and Kubernetes in cloud-native environments.
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to automate deployments and leverage AWS, Ansible, Terraform, and scripting languages like Batch and Bash.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4-8 years of hands-on Scala development experience.
  • Deep expertise with Akka Framework, including Akka Streams.
  • Experience with GRPC and Protocol Buffers.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of cloud-native applications.
  • Familiarity with AWS and IaaS/PaaS/SaaS models.
  • Knowledge of Ansible, Terraform, basic plus scripting in Batch and Bash.

Benefits:

  • AWS Certified Developer - Architect certification is preferred but not required.
  • Lightbend Akka Certification is also a plus.

Other Information:

  • Familiarity with Python scripting is a good-to-have skill.
  • Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and integration/unit testing best practices are essential.
  • Deploying apps on AWS and building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines are valuable skills.
  • Awareness of message brokers like Kafka and RabbitMQ is beneficial.
