Accounts Payable Expert

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of US accounting principles and be able to manage the full accounts payable cycle with accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices accurately and on time, ensuring proper approvals and adherence to company policies.
  • Manage and process payments to vendors, adhering to terms and schedules, and reconciling payments with vendor statements.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of accounts payable ledger to the general ledger, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Communicate regularly with vendors to resolve payment inquiries, disputes, and other account-related issues.
  • Assist in expense report preparation and review, ensuring compliance with company policies and internal controls.
  • Maintain accurate records for sales tax and 1099 reporting, ensuring US tax laws compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups).
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Knowledge of US tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience in generating aging reports and MIS reports.
