Job Title: Global Packaging Procurement Category Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our global packaging procurement category management efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing regional category sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving business value through cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Category Sourcing Strategy Development: Develop regional category sourcing strategies and plans aligned to the needs of the business, identifying opportunities to build business value and mitigate risk in a compliant manner.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain good regional market and supplier knowledge, ensuring all category sourcing arrangements are fully compliant with corporate policies and standards.
  • Sourcing Process Support: Own the strategic sourcing process to realise defined category management strategies, collaborating with customers to ensure effective contract management and compliance.
  • Supplier Performance Management: Develop jointly agreed performance measurement criteria with suppliers to continuously supervise and improve supplier performance, embedding these with contracts and performing/coordinating/supporting supplier performance management activities.
  • Supply Base Segmentation: Support strategic efforts including supply base segmentation, supporting reviews, and driving supply side innovation.
  • Market Knowledge Provision: Engage and work collaboratively on a regional basis to enable the effective development and delivery of post-contract supplier management activities, providing timely supply market knowledge to business customers.
  • Prompt Sourcing: Take care of sourcing matters promptly and effectively.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in category management, preferably in a global procurement environment.
  • Critical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Professional Qualifications: Relevant professional qualifications such as CIPS or APICS would be an advantage.
