Job Title: Chartered Accountant – Direct Tax SpecialistDepartment: Finance / Taxation Division

Experience: Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in Direct Taxation is required.

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct Tax Compliance Management:
    • Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income tax returns to avoid penalties and interest charges.
    • Handle advance tax computations, tax provisioning, and TDS/TCS compliance to minimize tax liabilities.
    • Ensure adherence to all direct tax regulations and timelines to maintain compliance.
  • Tax Planning & Advisory Services:
    • Provide strategic tax planning advice to optimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks and ensure alignment with business objectives.
    • Analyze and interpret complex tax laws to provide practical solutions and recommendations.
    • Advise management on the tax implications of new business initiatives and suggest alternative strategies to minimize tax risks.
  • Assessment & Litigation Support:
    • Represent the organization before tax authorities for assessments, appeals, and audits to protect its interests.
    • Prepare responses to notices and handle tax scrutiny assessments to resolve disputes efficiently.
    • Coordinate with external consultants and legal counsel for high-stakes tax litigation to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Transfer Pricing Expertise:
    • Ensure documentation and compliance related to transfer pricing regulations to maintain transparency.
    • Assist in preparing transfer pricing studies and dealing with international transactions to minimize tax risks.
  • Audit & Reporting Functions:
    • Assist in statutory and tax audits; coordinate with auditors and resolve queries to ensure accuracy.
    • Prepare tax-related schedules and disclosures for financial statements to maintain compliance.
    • Monitor changes in tax laws and evaluate their impact on the organization to stay ahead of regulatory requirements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with finance, legal, and business teams for tax-related matters to ensure seamless communication.
    • Support M&A, restructuring, and cross-border transactions from a tax perspective to minimize risks and maximize opportunities.
