Database Specialist Role

In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating multiple database environments. Your duties will include regular maintenance tasks such as data backups, restores, archiving, and reviewing logs for errors or potential issues.

You will regularly monitor and manage space capacity to ensure optimal usage. Collaboration with other operational DBAs, developers, and infrastructure teams is essential for the success of our database operations, particularly when working closely with development teams on schema definition, stored procedures, and triggers.

A key part of your role will be installation, configuration, upgrading, and patching of database systems. You will also assist in the development and implementation of strategies for data archiving, backup, and recovery.

To excel in this position, you should have proficiency in Oracle's Enterprise Manager/Cloud Control and SQL.Plus, as well as experience with Oracle, including ASM/GRID/RAC (11gR2,12c). Managing multiple RDBMS in a high-availability environment is crucial.

Mid-level skills with Linux (Red Hat & derivatives) and Windows Server 2008 and later are required, along with a good understanding of networking and storage principles.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in computer science or a related field is necessary, and 2-4 years of experience as a Database Administrator is required for this position.
