Agroforestry Specialist Job Description

Job Overview:

The Agroforestry Specialist plays a crucial role in designing and implementing environmentally sound, livelihood-enhancing restoration and agroforestry interventions.

This position ensures that natural resource management priorities are fully integrated into value chain strategies, driving sustainable development and economic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical aspects of agroforestry and restoration activities across value chain scoping, analysis, prioritization, and solution development.
  • Support the design of field survey protocols and selection of focal species to ensure effective project implementation.
  • Provide technical expertise and advise on interventions and capacity-building materials to enhance project outcomes.
  • Participate actively in stakeholder consultations and fieldwork to gather insights and inform decision-making.
  • Support the drafting and delivery of comprehensive project reports to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters/Diploma in Environmental Science, Forestry, or Natural Resource Management.
  • English & Hindi language proficiency.
  • 8 years of professional experience in natural resources management, agroforestry, and nature-based businesses; 5 years in agroforestry and nature-based value chains; 2 years in value chain-related projects in India.
