Urban Landscape and Complete Streets Initiative

We are seeking a highly motivated Urban Planning Professional to support the development and implementation of our Cities and Urban Landscape initiatives.

This role is ideal for a professional with a passion for creating people-centered urban spaces and a strong understanding of project coordination, landscape design, and sustainable development practices.

You will contribute to the development and implementation of projects focused on complete streets and sustainable urban design, ensuring effective collaboration with stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and consultants.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of urban landscape and complete streets projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and organizational goals.
  • Conduct site visits, gather data, and analyze information to inform project planning and design, supporting project development and evaluation.
  • Assist in preparing design concepts, presentations, and reports related to complete street projects, highlighting best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation, facilitating community consultations and workshops to gather valuable feedback.
  • Conduct research on best practices in urban landscape design and complete streets, supporting project development and informing future initiatives.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate project outcomes and inform future projects, using data-driven insights to drive decision-making.
  • Prepare project documentation, progress reports, and presentations, communicating project status and achievements to stakeholders.
  • Assist with the logistical coordination of project-related events and activities, ensuring smooth execution and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in urban planning, landscape design, or project coordination.
  • Solid understanding of urban planning principles, sustainable development practices, and project management methodologies.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
  • Experience in conducting site audits and surveys, with knowledge of complete streets design principles.
