Senior Road Safety Specialist Opportunity
">This role presents an exciting chance to spearhead initiatives enhancing road safety in Odisha. As a Senior Road Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for leading, planning, implementing, and evaluating road safety strategies across the state.
Key areas of focus include developing and reviewing the State Road Safety Policy and Action Plan, advising on alignment with national road safety frameworks, and recommending countermeasures for high-risk areas.
A strong understanding of Indian policies, laws, and regulations is essential. You will also work closely with government stakeholders, urban and rural authorities, law enforcement agencies, consultants, and community groups.
">Responsibilities:
">1. Develop and implement effective road safety strategies and policies at the state level.
2. Conduct thorough analyses of crash data, road user patterns, and other relevant factors to identify trends and risk factors.
3. Collaborate with diverse government agencies for integrated safety improvements and represent the state at national road safety forums.
4. Foster partnerships with local NGOs, schools, and community leaders to promote safe mobility initiatives.
">Requirements:
">You must have a Master's degree in Transportation Planning/Engineering, Urban Planning, Urban Design, Public Policy, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in mobility and/or road safety in India is required.
In addition, you should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Auto Cad, GIS, Photoshops, and data analysis tools is a must. Hindi and English fluency is necessary, with Odiya being desirable.
">Preferred Qualifications:
">Certification as a Road Safety Auditor from a recognized body is highly valued. Experience working with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), NHAI, state road works departments, or leading international road safety programs is also beneficial.
